How to get a toilet to stop clogging in just 7 ways

A common problem that can occur in any household is a clogged toilet. When this happens, it can be a real pain to try and fix it.

Often, the clog is caused by something like too much toilet paper being flushed down at once or by someone accidentally putting something like a t-shirt, baby wipes, and paper towel down the toilet.

If your toilet frequently becomes clogged, there are a few things that you can try to fix it. I’ll share my secret on how to get a toilet to stop clogging.

How to Get a toilet to Stop Clogging?

If you have issues with your toilet clogging, you’re not alone. This is a common problem that many people experience.

Fortunately, there are certain things you can do to help your toilet work correctly again.

The first thing you should do is determine what is causing the clog. There are a few other things that could be causing the problem:

-Tissue or paper products

-Foreign objects

-Grease or fat

1. Once you have determined what is causing the clog, you can take steps to address the issue. If it is something that you can easily remove, such as a foreign object, you should take care of it.

If there are tissue or paper products in the toilet, you can wait and try to remove them later. However, make certain that it is exclusively paper things.

Any types of towels or other fabric in the toilet, you should not try to remove them yourself.

2. Pour a pot of hot water into the toilet bowl. This will help to dissolve any build-up that may be causing the clog. If the clog persists, you can try using a plunger to clear it.

3. Place the plunger over the bowl hole, with the rubber cup directly on top of it. Plunge up and down several times to force the clog out through the other side. If this gets rid of the obstruction, but the toilet still doesn’t flush very well, you may have a clog in the trapway.

With a bucket, remove the excess water from the bowl and as much as possible from the area around the trapway. Unscrew and remove any cover or screws that might be keeping you from removing the trapway and clearing it out.

4. Make a solution of four parts water and one part vinegar, and pour it into the area where you just removed the trapway.

· Allow it to sit for a few minutes, and then use a plunger to try and force the clog out. If this fails, use an auger to try and remove the clog.

5. If you still cannot get the toilet to flush properly, repeat this process with one part baking soda and one part vinegar instead of water and vinegar because it can better break down certain types of clogs.

· If this does not clear out the problem, the issue could come from a lower clog than the trapway.

Remove the cover to the overflow pipe, and use an auger to try and unclog it. If this fails, remove the pipe and clean it out by hand.

6. If your toilet is still not flushing well after you have cleared the trapway and the overflow, you may need to change your toilet and get a large waste flushing toilet.

What to do about a toilet that keeps clogging?

A few things can be done to help prevent a toilet from clogging.

· One thing that can be done is to make sure that only solid waste is flushed down the toilet. If any other is flushed down the toilet, it can cause the toilet to become clogged.

· Another option that may be done is to avoid flushing objects that are not supposed to be flushed down the toilet. This includes items like baby wipes and dental floss. If these items are flushed down the toilet, they can cause the toilet to become clogged.

what to do about a toilet that keeps clogging

· Another thing that can be done is ensuring that the toilet is not clogged before flushing. One way to check if the toilet is clogged is to lift the lid on the toilet and look inside. If there are rags or other debris in the bowl, it is clogged. It’s also good to check for toilet paper that may be stuck in the pipes and large items that might not break down correctly.

A plunger can also be used to remove clogs from the toilet. The first step is to remove the cover from the toilet and then insert the plunger into the bowl.

The plunger can then be pushed up and down rapidly to loosen and break up the clog. After this, it is good to flush the toilet to see if it has been unclogged. If the toilet is still clogged, then the plunger can be used again.

An auger, sometimes called a plumber’s snake, can be used to remove objects from a clogged toilet.

The auger is a long, flexible metal rod with a coiled spring on one end and a handle on the other end. The coiled spring can be wrapped around an object in the toilet bowl and then unwound, pulling the object up and out of the toilet.

However, care should be taken when using an auger because it can cause damage to pipes if not used correctly and can even scratch and break the porcelain.

Another way to remove objects from a clogged toilet is to use a hand auger. A hand auger is similar to an auger, but it has a handle on one end of the long metal rod.

It can be pushed down into the toilet bowl and used to pull up objects that have been caught in the bowl. However, a hand auger is not likely to be able to remove larger objects from a toilet.

A closet auger can also be used to remove objects from a clogged toilet. A closet auger is similar to an auger, but it is smaller and has a spring-loaded clamp on one end.

The clamp can be used to attach to an object in the bowl and then unwind. This can pull the object up and out of the toilet so it can be removed by hand.

One last thing that can be done to prevent a clogged toilet is to make sure the toilet is not overloaded with toilet paper.

· This can help to prevent some objects from being flushed down the toilet. If the toilet is still clogged, it may be time to call a plumber to solve the problem.

How do you unclog a toilet when a plunger doesn’t work?

If the water goes down but comes back up and is not clearing, this means something is caught in the trap way of the toilet. Wait a little while for the water to settle down.

Sometimes you can flush it again, and it will go down. If that does not work, grab a bucket and scoop out as much of the water as possible.

Next, grab a coat hanger that is straightened. Reach down into the toilet bowl and try to snag the object with the coat hanger and pull it up.

If you can not remove what is clogging the toilet using this method, you may have to remove the toilet from the floor.

Did the toilet clog again after you just unclogged it?

Sometimes if your toilet has been clogged for a while or if you have put too much toilet paper in it, the pipes in the wall behind your toilet can become clogged.

This will send water to your toilet bowl but not allow any of it to go down. Start at the top and work your way down. Try pouring hot water into the bowl.

Q1. Does hot water unclog a toilet?

Yes, hot water can unclog toilet clogs! Just take boiling water and pour it into the toilet bowl from as far away as possible. You don’t even have to touch the toilet handle after that!

It might sound crazy, but it actually works. I’m not sure exactly how it works, but boiling water unclogs the toilet.

I’m sure there are other, less complicated reasons why the water in the hot water tank is scalding hot, but I don’t care about all that.
All I know is it’s the quickest way to get rid of a clog.

Thanks to the person who submitted this tip. I didn’t try it myself, but it sounds like a winner.

Q2. Can Coke clear a clogged toilet?

No. A clogged toilet results from sewer line blockage, which is caused by items too large to pass through the line and clump together, such as feminine hygiene products, baby wipes, and paper towels.

While Coca-Cola is a beverage that contains citric acid and caffeine – both of which will unclog a drain when combined with boiling water – the results are only temporary.

The carbonation in the beverage dislodges small blockages but does not have enough force to break up a major clog.
